Homework should be completed with limited assistance. It is a very good indicator as to whether or not your child understood the concepts presented in class.
Homework is given Monday through Thursday evenings. On most nights it consists of a math worksheet and the reading log. At least 20 minutes of reading should be completed for the reading log. Additionally, every other week, spelling words are introduced on in class on Monday, and a test is given on Friday. A homework packet is assigned on Monday and is due on Thursday. On alternate weeks, vocabulary words are introduced on Monday, a homework packet goes home and is due on Thursday, and a quiz is given on Friday. It is your child's responsibility to record the homework each morning in his/her agenda and be sure the homework pages and agenda are brought home. It is the student's responsibility to make sure all assignments are returned to school the following day.
Homework is expected to be turned in on time. Students should always show their best work and effort. Quality counts!
